Malaga
Malaga and automobile museum
Malaga is charming and widely known as a tourist city for the rich and famous. Now it successfully competes among cruise cities thanks to its profusion of quirky museums.
We will begin the tour by going up to the Gibralfaro Castle to observe the spectacular panoramic view of the city enjoying a coffee or a glass of beer or wine on the terrace of the Parador.
We will continue to the old tobacco factory and to the Museum of Old Cars to find ourselves in the 19th century. The Museum exhibits an extraordinary private collection of 6,000 square meters, which describes the artistic and historical evolution since the end of the 19th century through 13 thematic rooms. Travel through decades of automotive history, beginning with the first automobile along with its predecessor, the horse-drawn carriage, and moving through popular automobiles including Maserati, Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Rolls Royce. When you hear the names of Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, you will think of luxury and style. Cars and fashion have a long intertwined history and the Museum's collection of vintage hats and clothing complements the vehicles and transports you to a bygone era.
If all that luxury has made you want to go shopping, you'll have some free time to visit Malaga's main shopping street, Calle Larios, where there are a plethora of high street and designer shops.
Barcelona
Panoramic and Simon Coll
Discover the world of chocolate in a delight for the five senses. After leaving the pier, you will enjoy a picturesque drive through the countryside to the town of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, where you will find the Simón Coll chocolate factory. During an enlightening tour and through audiovisual exhibitions, you will learn fascinating details about the chocolate-making process and how it has changed at Simón Coll over the last 100 years. Next, a tasting, during which you will discover how the texture, the creamy fillings and the percentage of cocoa affect the taste of the chocolate. You'll see firsthand how chocolate tastes even more extraordinary fresh off the production line. Also take the opportunity to buy your favorites such as cocoa nibs, milk chocolate bars with almonds and white chocolate drops. After the visit, we will return to Barcelona for a panoramic tour of the city before returning to the ship.
Valencia
Think of Valencia, think of paella: the famous rice dish is synonymous with the city, where it has been eaten in various forms for centuries. Your day on land will begin with a scenic coach tour of the splendors of the city, admiring its Modernist, Moorish, Gothic and Baroque architecture and lush green spaces. You will then go to a paella school in nearby L'Horta to learn what it takes to prepare this tasty dish. With the guidance of a local chef, you'll choose your fresh ingredients from an organic garden and learn how to prepare them before creating your own unique paella, outdoors of course. While lunch is cooking, your chef will show you how to make another great Spanish classic: sangria. Soon it will be time to enjoy your personal masterpieces: deliciously scented herb paella, with garlic, accompanied by a pitcher of fresh sangria.
Cadiz
In the beautiful city of Jerez, enjoy the privileged opportunity to look behind the scenes as Purebred Spanish Horses train before your eyes at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Admire the incredible grace, speed, endurance, and beauty of these magnificent animals and appreciate the skill of their riders as they train for performances. Afterwards visit a traditional local winery and discover the blending process used to make this region's beloved sherry, we will end the visit with a tasting of different varieties. After lunch we will continue to Cádiz where we will take a panoramic tour of the old town and the bay area. Your guide will point out highlights such as the old Tobacco Factory, now the Cádiz Congress Palace, and the Church of Santo Domingo, the Old Royal Prison, the Roman theater, and the Castles of San Sebastián and Santa Catalina. Admire the Plaza de España, with its Monument to the Liberal Assembly, and the Provincial Council Building, both built in neoclassical style. You will see the Puerta de San Carlos, the Alameda Apodaca and the Iglesia del Carmen, the City Hall, the Playas de Santa María and Victoria and the ubiquitous soccer stadium. You will also enjoy an exterior view of the Cadiz Cathedral. Return to your cruise ship.
Balearics
We go to the Bellver Castle, there we will begin our visit of the city enjoying the best views of Palma de Mallorca. The Castle is located on a hill 112 meters above sea level, it was built by Jaume II as a defensive watchtower and court residence. Then we go down and enter the historic center, where you will be surprised by the network of narrow streets from medieval times, the stately homes from the 17th and 18th centuries or the Majorcan patios. We will continue through the Jewish quarter, known as Call Jueu in Majorcan. It is made up of dark and winding streets where a community of up to 5,000 Jews lived. And to finish we will go to the Cathedral, "La Seu", located in a privileged location on the old walls facing the sea and next to the Palace of La Almudaina. I am a paragraph. Canary Islands
We start with a drive to the city, via the coast, where we will stop for approximately 45 minutes for a guided tour of the old town. Then we continue to Puerto de la Cruz to visit the magnificent Jardín de Sitio Liter. The oldest garden in Tenerife, more than 220 years old, has a private mansion dating back to 1730. The owners have decided to open this magnificent garden to the public, which has the largest collection of orchids on the island, the largest dragon tree and Puerto de la Cruz and memories of important visitors such as the famous German botanist and explorer Alexander von Humboldt and Agatha Christie. It has a cafeteria and shop specializing in typical products. During the walk we will be able to observe the delicate flowers of beautiful colors and enjoy the atmosphere before re-boarding our tourist bus for the trip back to our cruise ship that awaits us.
Alicante
Admire the geological phenomena inside the limestone caves of Canelobre as a prelude to a visit to Busot for a tasting of tasty jams. After leaving the pier, you'll enjoy a leisurely drive inland, following a winding route through arid countryside to the Canelobre caves. This geological wonder is one of the main attractions of the entire province of Alicante, and you will soon see why.
Geologists estimate that the limestone caves were created in the Late Jurassic epoch, which ended about 145 million years ago. The Arabs supposedly discovered the caves in the 10th century, but they weren't explored until 1,000 years later.
During the Spanish Civil War in the late 1930s, the Republican Army used the caves as an aircraft repair shop. Since then, the caves have attracted cavers and even musicians, who love to perform here because of the extraordinary acoustics. As you wind your way through the caves' winding paths, you'll see stalactites and stalagmites eerily lit up in shapes as whimsical as jellyfish and as common as waterfalls. The most dramatic stalagmite is the eponymous Canelobre, a chandelier-like column that rises more than 80 feet from the cavern floor.
